To mark the conclusion of the 2009 - 2010 season for the
Doncaster Choral Society, members, friends and guests
attended the annual reception. Doncaster Civic Mayor
Councillor Margaret Pinkney and
consort were pleased to come and meet members
of the choir. Chairman Sue Dumican and President Philip Scowcroft
welcomed the mayor and introduced the coming
season. Entertainment was provided by mezzo-soprano Alison
Hudson, accompanied by Simon Lindley on pianoforte. Alison's singing
was much enjoyed by the audience who were enchanted with her songs
and her varied repertoire which included extracts from 'Carmen', 'My
Fair Lady' (My Boy Bill) and Benjamin Britten's 'Sally Gardens'.

The reception was held at the Yorkshire Residential School for the Deaf on Leger Way, Tuesday June 15th 2010. The Choral Society usually rehearse on a Tuesday evening at the Deaf School and new members are always welcome. Please see our 'How to Join' page. |
